A program in the UK matches those who need cheap housing with older people who need company. ‘Homeshare’ offers rooms rented at a lower cost in exchange for companionship and household chores while allowing seniors to stay in their homes for longer. A 97-year-old member said “I’m too old. All my contemporaries have gone, which is boring. So it’s nice to have someone around the place.” Source Source 2
